ABOUT US

Our goal is to help with self-awareness, healing, learning to adjust and re-adjust to the changing world around us.

Located in Pickering, Ontario, Mind Muse Therapy offers in-person and virtual counseling in Ontario specializing in talk-therapy based approaches and psychotherapy with Brainspotting.

Picture your brain as multi-layer system, each layer is a stage of the physical brain. Talk-therapy counselling is a top-down treatment approach that typically targets the processing of the outer layers of the brain. These layers work on insight to begin working on the change we wish to make. Brainspotting, a form of psychotherapy is a bottom-up approach allowing for processing to occur in the bottom layers, from the inside-out within the brain, targeting the sources of negative emotions. Many clients benefit from both top-down and bottom-up treatment approaches. You can participate in both approaches, you don’t have to choose.

You can have the best of both worlds through Mind Muse Therapy.

NAZIA HOQUE

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist
MSW, RSW, BSW

I have been fascinated with the human psyche for as long as I can remember. Supporting people to achieve emotional resilience through life’s events, whether big or small, is my goal. For almost two decades I have worked with clients assisting them through regaining essential structural human supports while providing psychoemotional assistance. At a time when clients feel the most powerless, my approach to their individual unique needs allow them to be seen and heard.

I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist helping others regain self-management and determination over their lives. Since completing my graduate studies at York University I have worked in a variety of in-home and community based settings involving clinical and structural based interventions to service. As a bilingual (English-Bengali) therapist, I can also offer support and guidance to individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds while providing a sense of cultural connection as required.

My professional experience and expertise include working with survivors of trauma, traumatic injuries and psycho-emotional challenges. I have experience working in the developmental disability sector and with the dual diagnosis population in regards to their mental health.  My experience provides a wide therapeutic framework to offer clients an opportunity to heal.

The interventions that I use allow for deeper integration of mind and body connection for long-term results.
